The center's day services
provide training in four major functional areas: VOCATIONAL SKILLS, DAILY
LIVING SKILLS, COMMUNITY ACCESS and BEHAVIORAL SKILLS. Within these categories,
training is tailored to meet the needs and functional level of the individual.
Day services offer opportunities to develop life-enhancing skills and raise
levels of independence. They are an important part of HCAR's mission to provide
support for full inclusion in the community. This is being accomplished by
maximizing the number of choices available to each participant.
Other opportunities that are offered through day services include access to
academic instruction offered by the Eureka Adult School and paid work provided
through the delivery of Tri-City Weekly Advertiser and paper shredding at
HCAR's Confidential Document Disposal operation.
