LIFE SKILLS COACH

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

JOB SUMMARY: A Life Skills Coach provides functional social and behavioral skills training to adults with developmental disabilities. Following comprehensive individual client service plans, you will coach people on appropriate ways to handle everyday situations from basic communication skills to making personal choices to using community services such as public transit. Most training activities take place in the community on a daily basis Monday through Friday. Focusing on teaching people to do for themselves rather than having things done for them, you will provide interactive opportunities in Independent Living Skills, Community Resource Skills, Vocational and Leisure Skills.

QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of six months experience working with individuals with developmental/behavioral disabilities. College course work in a related field (such as psychology, child development, or education) may be partial substitute for experience. Behavior management background preferred. Specialized training provided.

RATE OF PAY: From $8.73 per hour plus benefits.
